As the Software Engineer, you are a vital part in developing frontend solutions by leading technical resources and generating exciting new designs for current and future applications working across a variety of open-source technologies.  You are the catalyst in contributing and influencing design and engineering standards across software products or web applications.
Development tools, libraries and languages will include ReactJS, NextJS, and Typescript.
What you’ll be doing:
As part of the Software Engineering Team, you will lead a variety of technical resources by generating exciting new designs for current and future applications while meeting company standards.
You will be an advocate for change, excelling in the rapid and ever-changing environment and have the ability to manage a diverse range of projects at any given time.
You’ll also:
  • Primary responsibility will be the front development of applications, frameworks, and services across the’ Merch Platfrom.
  • Work closely with the Lead Engineer to ensure the business meets technical objectives.
  • Play a leading role in skill development and general mentorship to other developers across the team.
  • Engage with enterprise teams – architecture and strategy, security, infrastructure, and cloud to determine strategic options and recommendation.
  • Contribute and influence design and engineering standards in full stack technologies used in a software product or web application.
  • Have expert understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile development practices, and enterprise architecture principles.
Good things you’ll need:
This role requires commercial experience across a large-scale system-critical business environment. As the Software Engineer you will support the delivery of a variety of products and applications, working across a wide range of new tools, processes, and solutions.
You’ll also need:
  • Experience working within a similar environment managing all frontend development aspect working across Responsive web design and Single page architecture essential.
  • Commercial experience developing frontend solutions and implementing new frameworks such as ReactJS, NextJS, TypeScript are essential.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership qualities and mentoring capability.
  • Excellent understanding of product development methodologies, both Agile and Waterfall.
  • Good understanding of full stack product architecture and infrastructure components, especially in the frontend with respect to security and performance.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle and Devops processes such as build, deploy and automated testing would be highly desirable.
  • Experience in large or complex organisations requiring stakeholder management would be highly desirable.
